Making Waves Film Festival is at an exciting point in its journey, and we’re looking for a Creative Director to help shape what comes next.

Based in Portsmouth, Making Waves is the city’s annual film festival and short film competition. We’re known for supporting local talent, innovative film choices and immersive cinema experiences.

The festival plays an active role in the social and cultural life of Portsmouth. We want to help put Portsmouth on the map as a creative and cultural city. We also proudly support Portsmouth’s City of Culture Bid by championing local talent, collaboration and ambition.

Making Waves is volunteer‑led and part of Kino Kult CIC, a not‑for‑profit arts organisation with a long history of delivering film, live cinema and creative projects in the city. Together, we’ve built something with a strong identity and growing impact.

Now we’re ready for the next step.

We’re looking for a Creative Director who can help us:

  • build on what we’ve already achieved
  • shape the festival’s creative direction
  • explore new ideas, partnerships and ways of working
  • help the festival grow while staying true to its values
